We have prepared a list of frequently asked questions and it is the fastest way to get answers. If your question is not covered by our prepared responses, or if you want to let us know your comments, visit our contact page.
- What do I need to bring?
- The Casbah has everything you'll need except your clothes, toiletries, food, beverage, and perhaps your favorite movies and music.
- Can we grill out on the balcony?
- There is no BBQ grill, but the kitchen opens out onto the balcony so you can cook to your hearts content and enjoy the view while dining.
- What furnishings does the property include?
- The condo is fully furnished. Amenities include a fully equipped kitchen with microwave, coffee maker, blender, toaster stove and oven, refrigerator with freezer, dishes, pots and pans, utensils, and an assortment of spices and condiments. The entertainment center includes a TV with DVD/VCR, stereo, desk, playing cards and backgammon. The bedroom has a kingsize bed, alarm clock, bedside lamps, TV, and plenty of closet space. Extras include an iron and ironing board.
- When do I check in and check out?
- You may check in after 3pm and must check out by noon.
- How do I check out?
- If you booked through an agency, then your concierge will arrange your check out. If you are booking through this site, then you will drop your keys at the reception desk of the hotel.
- Will I have access to Internet & business services?
- Wireless internet is available on the terrace level around the lobby and the cafe. If you need to use a phone for local calls, you may pay a small fee at the reception desk to use their landline. Fax and copy services are not provided.
- What if there is a hurricane or tropical storm?
- Go to the reception desk and follow instructions from the hotel staff.
- What are our departure responsibilities?
- You must have your belongings out of the condo by noon on the day of your departure. Close and lock the unit.
- When do I pay my deposit?
- When you book the unit, you will receive an Pay Pal invoice requesting a 50% deposit. You must pay at least 50%. The balance is required 30 days prior to your arrival.
- What methods of payment do you accept?
- Preferred payment will be through Pay Pal, using a credit card.
- Is there a maximum number of vehicles allowed at the property?
- There is no assigned parking on the property. If you are one of the few visitors who is driving, you will normally have no problem finding a space in front of Hotel Brisas Del Mar.
- What happens if there is inclement weather or if I decide to leave early?
- There will be no refunds due to weather conditions, natural disasters, acts of God, or personal crisis causing you to leave early. However, if there is a problem specifically related to the normal functions of the condo rendering the unit uninhabitable, the owner will consider making an adjustment.
- What is your cancellation policy?
- Cancellations may be made up to 30 days prior to arrival. There will be a 20% cancellation fee.
- Are towels exchanged during my vacation?
- There are plenty of linens stocked in the unit. Feel free to use them as needed. However, if you run out of clean linens before the once a week maid service, you may request and be charged for additional laundry services for clean linens. You may inquire about these laundry services at the reception desk.
- Can I make a reservation online?
- Yes. Please refer to reservation page.
- Do you provide cribs or highchairs?
- No.
- Can I cancel online?

- Does my vacation property have internet access?
- Wireless internet is available and easily accessed on the terrace level. Because of the layers of concrete in the building, you probably won't gain access in the unit.
- Can I make long-distance phone calls from the rental property?
- No, however, there are several internet cafes in the neighborhood at which you may pay to make long distance calls. Or, you may make long distance calls for free at Que Pasa , which is locate about a mile away in another part of the old town area: http://quepasabar.com/
- How can I get grocery delivery?
- There are a variety of local restaruants who will deliver meals.
- How do I report a lost item?
- First check with the reception desk to see if your item was turned in. Next contact the property manager via email or phone at the numbers provided on the Contact Us page of this website.
- Are pets allowed?
- Small dogs are fine. They must be kept on a leash in the common areas of the condominium complex.
- How many people can sleep in The Casbah?
- 3 adults or 2 adults and 2 small children will be comfortable, with the king size bed and extra long sofa. An additional person can be accommodated with an inflatable mattress by pre-arranging with the owner.
- Are there a lot of stairs?
- Puerto Vallarta is a city of stairs. The Casbah is located an easy 33 steps and 3 landings down from the main terrace/lobby. There are also stairs to Amapas, the street near the beach...between 25 and 157 of them, depending on which route you take (outside the building, inside the building, or the ramp). There is also an elevator being built. It should be operational by this spring.
- Is the water safe to drink or brush your teeth?
- Puerto Vallarta is known for having a superb water system. The water is safe, however, for your peace of mind there is bottled water in The Casbah. Personally, I use tap water to brush my teeth and to make coffee. Beyond that, I use bottled.
